About Side Note

Side Note is an after thought. An aside. A ‘by the way’. And as the name suggests, nothing in this newsletter is particularly important. But an outlet for my after thoughts.

This newsletter is filled with recommendations of books and films that interest me; of articles and podcasts that have captured my attention; and music I am drawn to. This newsletter also includes cultural commentary and personal essays.

Side Note is a place for my obsessions and reflections. It is a place to examine popular culture, complex emotions and the minutiae of everyday life. It is, above all, a place for big thoughts on little things. If it is of interest to you, welcome. I’m so happy you’re here.

About me

I’m a writer and author based in Sydney, Australia. I have profiled celebrities and written about gender and love and Tyler, the Creator. My work has appeared in Vogue Australia, GQ Australia, Grazia, The Huffington Post, The Sydney Morning Herald, and The Age, among other places. 

My book, The First Move, was an examination of gender dynamics in dating culture. I have also contributed essays to anthologies published by Penguin Random House and Hachette and I recently worked with Grace Tame on her bestselling memoir. 

I have more than eight years experience in digital and print publishing, holding former roles at The Huffington Post Australia, The Australian Women’s Weekly and FW, an organisation dedicated to the advancement of women and gender diverse people.
